Driver Terms
The terms for providing rides through heyGo, operated by ILE LABS LTD.
Effective: 30 October 2026These Driver Platform Terms govern access to and use of heyGo by drivers and approved vehicle owners. Please read them alongside the Community Guidelines.
Operator: ILE LABS LTD · Company number: 9112273.
1. About heyGo and these Terms
1.1 heyGo is a mobility technology product operated by ILE LABS LTD, company number 9112273 (“ILE”, “heyGo”, “we”, “us” or “our”). The heyGo platform includes the heyGo Driver application, rider application, websites, support systems, APIs and related technology made available by ILE from time to time.
1.2 These Terms form an agreement between ILE and the person or entity accepted by heyGo as a Driver or, where heyGo permits it, a vehicle owner or service provider that appoints an approved driver.
1.3 By creating a Driver account, accepting these Terms electronically, or using the Driver Platform after acceptance, you agree to comply with these Terms, the heyGo Community Guidelines, the privacy information published by heyGo and any market-specific safety or operating rules made available to you.
1.4 If a separate written agreement signed by ILE expressly conflicts with these Terms, that written agreement will control only to the extent of the conflict.
2. Who may use the Driver Platform
2.1 You must be at least 21 years old and meet all eligibility requirements communicated by heyGo and all requirements imposed by applicable law or a competent transport authority.
2.2 You must hold and maintain all licences, permits, certificates, approvals, insurance and other documents legally required to provide passenger transportation in the market where you drive.
2.3 You must provide complete, current and accurate information. You must promptly update heyGo if any information or document expires, is suspended, is revoked, changes materially or becomes inaccurate.
2.4 Approval to use the Driver Platform is not permanent. Continued access is subject to ongoing eligibility, document validity, safety checks, vehicle status and compliance with these Terms.
3. Relationship between ILE, Drivers and Riders
3.1 heyGo provides technology that helps Riders and eligible Drivers find, arrange and record ride-hailing trips. Except where applicable law provides otherwise, ILE does not itself provide the passenger transportation performed by a Driver.
3.2 Drivers choose independently whether, when and for how long to make themselves available on the Driver Platform. heyGo does not require minimum working hours, minimum trip counts or earnings targets.
3.3 A Driver may use other platforms or provide transportation services independently, subject to applicable law and any legitimate obligations owed to a vehicle owner, fleet operator or other third party.
3.4 Nothing in these Terms is intended to create an employment, partnership, joint venture or franchise relationship between ILE and a Driver where the law does not create such a relationship. The legal character of the relationship remains subject to mandatory law.
3.5 When a Driver accepts and begins a Trip, the transportation service is provided by the relevant Driver/service provider to the Rider. heyGo facilitates matching, trip information, platform rules, support and other technology services.
4. Registration, identity and verification
4.1 You must register using your own valid information and complete all verification steps required by heyGo.
4.2 Verification may include identity checks, phone verification, driver’s licence checks, document validation and checks performed by approved third-party providers, as disclosed during registration.
4.3 Vehicle inspection is required before activation and must be renewed every six months. Where an approved inspection partner charges a fee directly to the Driver or vehicle owner, that fee is not a heyGo trip commission.
4.4 Passing a verification or inspection process does not transfer responsibility for the Driver’s conduct, legal compliance or vehicle condition to ILE, and does not constitute a warranty that future conditions will remain unchanged.
4.5 heyGo may re-check eligibility or request updated information where reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, compliance, document renewal or a reported incident.
5. Driver account security
5.1 Your Driver account is personal to you unless heyGo expressly supports a separate fleet or appointed-driver arrangement.
5.2 You must not lend, sell, rent, transfer or share login credentials or allow an unapproved person to complete Trips through your Driver account.
5.3 You are responsible for reasonable security of your device, login credentials and one-time passwords. Notify heyGo promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
5.4 heyGo may require re-authentication, identity re-verification or temporary restriction where account takeover or identity mismatch is suspected.
6. Vehicle eligibility, documents and inspection
6.1 Only a vehicle approved for the Driver account may be used to fulfil a Trip. The vehicle shown to the Rider should match the vehicle actually used, including material identifying details such as plate number, make/model and, where shown, colour.
6.2 The vehicle must be roadworthy, clean to a reasonable passenger-service standard, properly maintained and compliant with applicable transport, licensing, safety and insurance requirements.
6.3 You must maintain valid vehicle documents required by law or reasonably requested by heyGo, which may include proof of ownership or lawful use, vehicle licence, roadworthiness certificate, insurance, permits and inspection records.
6.4 heyGo may refuse, pause or withdraw approval of a vehicle that fails an inspection, has expired documents, is materially different from the registered vehicle, or presents a reasonable safety or compliance concern.
6.5 Vehicle approval on heyGo does not replace any governmental inspection, permit or licensing obligation.
6.6 Eligible vehicles for the normal heyGo ride category are 4-door sedans, 4-door hatchbacks, SUVs/crossovers and MPVs specifically approved by heyGo. They must have at least four passenger seats excluding the Driver, factory-installed or functioning air conditioning, seat belts for all passenger seating positions, no material body damage, and be clean, mechanically sound and roadworthy. Full-size commercial buses, pickups and trucks are not eligible for this category. A salvaged or rebuilt vehicle requires specific approval and must be lawful.
6.7 Model year 2000 vehicles are eligible for consideration subject to all other requirements and approval. Vehicle inspections must be renewed every six months.
7. Vehicle owners, fleets and appointed drivers
7.1 A vehicle owner may register a vehicle driven by another approved Driver. An approved vehicle may be linked to more than one approved Driver. Each Driver must have their own approved Driver account, complete verification and be authorised to use the vehicle.
7.2 Every person who fulfils Trips must have their own approved Driver identity and must satisfy heyGo’s verification and eligibility requirements. A vehicle owner may not use another person’s Driver account as a substitute for driver approval.
7.3 The vehicle owner or fleet operator is responsible for ensuring that it has the lawful right to make the vehicle available and, where applicable, a lawful arrangement with each appointed Driver.
7.4 ILE is not a party to private employment, rental, hire-purchase, revenue-share or other arrangements between a vehicle owner and an appointed Driver unless ILE expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
7.5 heyGo may limit the number of Drivers linked to a vehicle, require re-verification when drivers change, or disable fleet functionality where safety, fraud or compliance risks arise.
8. Going online and receiving trip requests
8.1 Subject to platform availability and eligibility, you choose when to go online and make yourself available for Trip requests.
8.2 Trip requests may include information such as pickup area, estimated pickup time or distance, destination or destination area, estimated Trip Fare and other information made available by the product.
8.3 You may accept or decline a Trip request. Declining a request does not by itself create a monetary penalty, although heyGo may apply reasonable product limits designed to prevent abuse, unsafe behaviour or deliberate manipulation.
8.4 heyGo does not guarantee any minimum number of Trip requests, Rider demand, earnings, utilisation level or income.
8.5 Matching may take into account proximity, estimated arrival time, service category, safety, previous problematic pairings, marketplace conditions, system integrity and other legitimate operational factors.
9. Accepting, cancelling and completing trips
9.1 When you accept a Trip request, you should proceed toward the pickup point without unreasonable delay, subject to road conditions, safety and applicable law.
9.2 You must not begin a Trip before the Rider or authorised passenger has been picked up, and you must not mark a Trip complete before the transportation service actually ends.
9.3 You should transport the Rider to the agreed destination using a reasonable and lawful route, taking account of the Rider’s lawful route preference, traffic, closures and safety.
9.4 You may cancel where reasonably necessary, including for safety, legal, vehicle, emergency or Rider no-show reasons. Repeated or manipulative cancellations may be reviewed.
9.5 Cancellation fees apply according to the separately disclosed in-app fee schedule. Per-minute waiting fees apply after five minutes; the amounts, eligibility conditions and timer rules are stated in that schedule. Tolls may be charged manually at actual cost. Parking fees are not charged automatically. Cleaning fees require manual review. Drivers must not enter their own fare adjustments.
9.6 You must not demand an amount above the amount shown or adjusted through an authorised heyGo process. Drivers may not enter or impose their own fare adjustments. Only charges permitted under section 9.5 and the disclosed in-app fee schedule may apply.
10. Fares, 0% commission and trip charges
10.1 heyGo may calculate or display an estimated or upfront Fare using factors such as pickup distance, Trip distance, estimated travel time, traffic, operating costs, service category, scheduled pickup, marketplace demand/supply and other pricing inputs.
10.2 The Fare or Fare basis shown before acceptance applies to the Trip, subject to authorised platform adjustments disclosed through heyGo. Cancellation fees, waiting fees, tolls and cleaning charges are governed by section 9.5 and the separately disclosed in-app fee schedule. Parking fees are not charged automatically, and Driver-entered fare adjustments are not permitted.
10.3 heyGo charges Drivers 0% commission on Trip Fares. ILE does not retain a percentage of the Fare payable to a Driver merely because the Trip was arranged through heyGo.
10.4 Insurance, pension and financing deductions or contributions may be made only with the Driver’s separate authorisation and clearly disclosed terms. They are not Trip commission. An inspection partner may separately charge a disclosed inspection fee. Applicable legally required charges must be identified as such and must not be described as optional.
10.5 heyGo does not charge Riders a platform or service fee at launch. Any future change must be separately disclosed and communicated through updated applicable terms before it takes effect.
10.6 heyGo may correct obvious pricing or technical errors where reasonably necessary, but should provide a clear record or explanation of any material post-Trip adjustment.
11. Rider payments and payment records
11.1 Supported launch payment methods are cash, bank transfer and in-app payment. The Driver Platform indicates the payment method for each Trip.
11.2 Where the Rider pays the Driver directly, the Driver is responsible for providing accurate payment details, checking receipt of payment and confirming payment status truthfully in the Driver Platform where required.
11.3 Where ILE or an authorised payment provider collects money as agent or facilitator for a Driver, the collection, settlement timing, reversals and payment-provider rules may be subject to additional payment terms shown in the platform.
11.4 You must not falsely mark an unpaid Trip as paid, falsely claim non-payment, or use payment status to manipulate trip records.
11.5 A payment dispute does not permit harassment, threats, detention of a Rider, confiscation of property or other unlawful self-help. Use the support and dispute process provided by heyGo.
12. Promotions, discounts and optional deductions
12.1 heyGo may offer Riders discounts or promotional pricing. The Fare displayed to the Driver before acceptance should reflect the amount the Driver is entitled to receive for the Trip, unless heyGo separately states that it will fund an additional amount.
12.2 A Driver is not required to fund a Rider discount after a Trip has been accepted unless that effect was clearly disclosed before acceptance or the Driver separately agreed to the programme.
12.3 Insurance, pension or financing products require separate authorisation. Applicable amounts, frequency, beneficiary, cancellation rights and other key terms must be disclosed separately before deductions or contributions are made.
12.4 Optional deductions or contributions are not Trip commission. ILE will not describe an amount as optional if applicable law requires it.
13. Driver standards and Community Guidelines
13.1 You must comply with the heyGo Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms.
13.2 You must treat Riders, passengers, support personnel, inspection partners and other platform users respectfully and without unlawful discrimination or harassment.
13.3 You must drive safely, obey traffic laws, use seat belts and required restraints, avoid dangerous phone use while driving and never provide Trips while impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs or any condition that makes driving unsafe.
13.4 You must not engage in sexual conduct, sexual harassment, unwanted physical contact, stalking, threats, violence, theft, extortion or intimidation in connection with heyGo.
13.5 You must keep Rider information confidential and use Rider contact details only as reasonably necessary for the Trip, support, safety or return of lost property.
14. Safety, accidents and emergencies
14.1 Safety takes priority over completing a Trip. If continuing a Trip would create an immediate safety risk, take reasonable steps to stop in a safe location and seek appropriate assistance.
14.2 You must report serious accidents, injuries, alleged assaults, threats, significant vehicle incidents and other serious safety events to heyGo as soon as reasonably practicable after dealing with immediate emergency needs.
14.3 Where required by law, you must also contact the police, emergency services, insurer or other competent authority. Reporting to heyGo does not replace a legal reporting duty.
14.4 You must reasonably cooperate with safety investigations, including by preserving relevant trip information and providing truthful information, subject to your legal rights and data-protection requirements.
14.5 heyGo may temporarily restrict access while a serious safety matter is investigated where reasonably necessary to protect users or comply with law.
15. Insurance
15.1 You and/or the vehicle owner must maintain the motor insurance and other insurance required by applicable law for the vehicle and transportation service you provide.
15.2 Additional heyGo insurance applies only when formally activated and only to the extent stated in the insurer’s policy, certificate, schedule or applicable heyGo insurance disclosure. Drivers and vehicle owners must still maintain their own legally required insurance.
15.3 Unless expressly stated in an applicable policy, registration on heyGo does not by itself mean that every loss, accident, injury or claim is insured by ILE.
15.4 Where a Driver opts into an insurance contribution programme, the contribution mechanism, coverage trigger, insurer, claims process, exclusions and treatment of incomplete contributions will be governed by separate insurance terms.
16. Ratings, complaints and support
16.1 Riders may provide feedback or ratings, and Drivers may be able to provide feedback about Riders. Feedback should be honest and based on genuine interactions.
16.2 heyGo may use ratings, complaints, support history and safety reports as signals for quality and risk management, but should consider context and available evidence before taking serious account action.
16.3 Drivers may contact support through the channels made available by heyGo for trip, payment, safety, account, verification and other issues.
16.4 Repeated substantiated service problems, unsafe conduct or serious breaches may lead to corrective action under sections 18 and 19.
16.5 Support is available through the in-app support channel and [email protected]. Complaints will be acknowledged within 24 hours. The normal resolution target is within five business days; this is a target rather than a guarantee for every case. Complex matters may require further investigation, and heyGo will communicate relevant updates.
17. Fraud, misuse and prohibited conduct
17.1 You must not use heyGo to commit, facilitate or conceal fraud, crime or other unlawful activity.
17.2 Prohibited manipulation includes fake Trips, coordinated false bookings, fabricated demand, collusion to obtain promotions improperly, GPS/location manipulation, false trip status, duplicate-account abuse, falsified documents, identity substitution and intentional inflation or falsification of Trip distance, duration or charges.
17.3 You must not access or attempt to access another user’s account, interfere with the platform, scrape or extract data unlawfully, introduce malicious code, bypass technical restrictions or reverse engineer the platform except where the law expressly permits it.
17.4 Drivers and Riders must not deliberately cancel, falsify or move a genuine heyGo Trip outside the recorded Trip flow for the purpose of deceiving heyGo, falsifying activity, abusing promotions, defeating safety records or evading a rule that lawfully applies to the Trip.
17.5 Section 17.4 does not prohibit a supported direct Rider-to-Driver payment method merely because payment occurs outside ILE’s bank account.
18. Suspension, investigation and deactivation
18.1 heyGo may temporarily restrict, suspend or deactivate a Driver account where reasonably necessary because of: expired or invalid required documents; failed or expired vehicle inspection; identity mismatch or account sharing; suspected fraud or platform manipulation; serious or repeated safety complaints; unlawful conduct; material breach of these Terms; a competent authority’s requirement; or another substantial risk to users or the platform.
18.2 For urgent safety, fraud or legal risks, heyGo may restrict access immediately while reviewing the matter. For less urgent issues, heyGo should normally provide notice and, where appropriate, an opportunity to correct the problem.
18.3 The seriousness, frequency, available evidence, risk of harm and Driver’s history may be considered when deciding what action is proportionate.
18.4 Account action may range from education or warning, to feature restriction, temporary suspension, requirement to re-verify or re-inspect, or permanent deactivation.
18.5 Where legally and operationally appropriate, heyGo will communicate the main reason for material suspension or deactivation.
19. Driver appeals and account review
19.1 A Driver may request review of a material suspension or deactivation through the appeal or support channel provided by heyGo.
19.2 The Driver should provide relevant information or evidence supporting the request. heyGo may request additional information reasonably necessary to complete the review.
19.3 A second reviewer, different from the person who made the original decision, will review the appeal and consider the available evidence. The appeal must not rely solely on the original automated flag or initial decision.
19.4 If the review identifies a material error, heyGo may restore access or modify the action. If the action is upheld, heyGo should communicate the outcome, subject to safety, privacy, anti-fraud and legal restrictions.
20. Taxes, permits and legal compliance
20.1 You are responsible for understanding and complying with laws that apply to your transportation activity, including driver licensing, vehicle licensing, roadworthiness, transport permits, tax obligations and any professional-driver requirements.
20.2 Where the law requires ILE, a payment provider or another person to withhold, collect, report or remit a tax, levy or regulatory charge, heyGo may do so and may provide the relevant records to you where appropriate.
20.3 You must comply with lawful requirements of competent regulators and enforcement agencies. heyGo may provide information to authorities where required or lawfully permitted.
20.4 heyGo may adopt market-specific operating requirements that are reasonably necessary to comply with transport regulation, safety obligations or regulator directions.
21. Privacy and data
21.1 ILE processes personal data in accordance with the privacy information published by heyGo and applicable data-protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 where applicable.
21.2 Data processed may include identity and contact data, driver and vehicle documents, verification results, device and security data, approximate or precise location while using relevant features, Trip records, payment records, support interactions, ratings and safety information.
21.3 Certain information may be shared with Riders as necessary for the service, such as Driver name, profile image, vehicle details, plate number, location/arrival information and contact functionality.
21.4 ILE may use service providers for verification, hosting, communications, payments, vehicle inspection, insurance, mapping, analytics, customer support, fraud prevention or other legitimate operational purposes, subject to appropriate legal safeguards.
21.5 Drivers must protect Rider personal data and must not retain, disclose, sell or use it for unrelated purposes.
22. Intellectual property and use of heyGo branding
22.1 ILE and its licensors retain ownership of heyGo software, trademarks, designs, content and other intellectual property except where stated otherwise.
22.2 Subject to these Terms, ILE grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Driver Platform for its intended purpose while your account remains approved.
22.3 You may not present yourself as an employee, agent or authorised spokesperson of ILE unless separately authorised.
22.4 Unless a programme expressly requires otherwise, Drivers are not required merely by these Terms to display heyGo stickers, advertisements or permanent branding on their vehicles. Optional branding programmes may have separate terms.
23. Platform availability and third-party services
23.1 The Driver Platform may rely on third-party services such as mobile networks, maps, payment systems, identity services, inspection providers and cloud infrastructure.
23.2 ILE does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Features may be changed, suspended or unavailable due to maintenance, outages, market conditions, legal requirements or third-party failures.
23.3 Drivers remain responsible for safe navigation and must not follow a mapping instruction that is obviously unlawful, unsafe or physically impossible.
23.4 heyGo may release beta or experimental features with additional notices or limitations.
24. Responsibility and liability
24.1 Each Driver is responsible for the transportation service they provide, including safe driving, lawful operation and the condition and use of the vehicle, subject to applicable law.
24.2 ILE remains responsible for its own obligations under applicable law and does not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
24.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law, ILE will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising solely from use of the Driver Platform, including loss of anticipated profit or opportunity, except where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
24.4 ILE does not guarantee Rider conduct, Rider payment in direct-payment Trips, Driver demand, Trip volume, earnings or the availability of any particular feature.
24.5 Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that mandatory law gives to a Driver and that cannot validly be waived.
25. Indemnity
25.1 To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims, fines, penalties or reasonable costs arising from your unlawful conduct, your material breach of these Terms, your operation of an unapproved/unsafe vehicle, or your infringement of a third party’s rights.
25.2 This section does not require you to indemnify ILE for losses caused by ILE’s own unlawful conduct, negligence or breach to the extent the law prevents such allocation.
26. Changes to these Terms
26.1 ILE may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, regulation, product functionality, safety requirements or the heyGo business model.
26.2 For material changes, heyGo will provide reasonable notice through the Driver Platform, email, SMS, website or another appropriate channel unless immediate change is required by law or urgent safety/security needs.
26.3 Where required by law or where the change materially alters the Driver’s contractual rights, heyGo may require renewed acceptance before continued use.
27. Ending these Terms
27.1 You may stop using heyGo and request closure of your Driver account subject to unresolved safety, fraud, debt, legal-retention or other lawful requirements.
27.2 ILE may end these Terms or deactivate access in accordance with section 18.
27.3 Ending these Terms does not extinguish rights, payment obligations, claims or provisions that by their nature should survive, including provisions concerning records, privacy, intellectual property, liability, disputes and amounts already due.
28. Notices and contact
28.1 Operational notices may be sent through the Driver Platform, SMS, email, website or support channel using the contact information associated with your account.
28.2 You are responsible for keeping your phone number and other required contact information current.
28.3 Support is available in-app and by email at [email protected]. Legal notices and privacy questions may also be sent to [email protected].
29. Governing law and disputes
29.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to any mandatory local law that applies to a particular Trip or Driver.
29.2 Before commencing court proceedings, the parties should first attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute through heyGo’s internal complaint process, unless urgent relief is reasonably required.
29.3 Subject to any mandatory jurisdiction rules, unresolved disputes may be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria.
29.4 Nothing in this section prevents a person from making a complaint to a regulator or exercising a statutory right that cannot lawfully be restricted.
30. General provisions
30.1 If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
30.2 Failure to enforce a provision immediately does not waive the right to enforce it later.
30.3 ILE may assign or transfer its rights and obligations as part of a lawful corporate restructuring, financing, sale, merger or transfer of the heyGo business, subject to applicable law. A Driver may not transfer their personal Driver account to another person.
30.4 Headings are for convenience and do not change the meaning of these Terms.
30.5 References to “including” mean “including without limitation” unless the context requires otherwise.
