Terms of Use
Clear terms for using heyGo as a rider, driver, fleet partner or visitor to our website. Drivers should also read the Driver Terms and Community Guidelines.
Last updated: 15 October 20261. Your agreement with heyGo
These Terms of Use govern your access to the heyGo website, apps and ride marketplace. By accessing or using heyGo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
heyGo may launch in stages, limit availability by area or user group, and change which features are available during an early-access period.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must have legal capacity to accept these Terms. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and meet the driver and vehicle requirements shown during registration. A parent or authorised guardian must arrange and supervise any child trip.
Information supplied to heyGo must be accurate and current. You are responsible for protecting your account, device, PIN and login details, and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorised access.
3. How the marketplace works
heyGo provides technology that helps riders find eligible drivers and helps drivers decide which trip requests work for them. Unless applicable law or a separate written agreement states otherwise, drivers provide rides independently and remain responsible for their vehicles, licences, permits, insurance and conduct.
A trip is formed between the rider and driver when a request is accepted. heyGo may provide verification, trip information, safety and support tools, but cannot guarantee that every user will behave safely or that every trip will be uninterrupted.
4. Fares, payments and charges
The pickup, destination and fare are shown before a driver accepts a trip. Supported payment methods are cash, bank transfer and in-app payment, as shown for the trip. Drivers keep 100% of the displayed trip fare and heyGo charges 0% driver commission. There is no rider service fee at launch.
Cancellation fees and per-minute waiting fees after five minutes follow the separately disclosed in-app fee schedule. Tolls are handled manually at actual cost. Parking is not charged automatically, and cleaning charges require manual review. Drivers cannot enter their own fare adjustments. Raise payment disputes through in-app support or [email protected]; any review or remedy is subject to applicable terms and law.
5. Rider and driver responsibilities
- Treat other users with respect and do not discriminate, threaten or harass.
- Use accurate pickup, destination, identity and vehicle information.
- Follow road, safety, licensing and passenger-transport laws.
- Do not use heyGo for unlawful, dangerous or fraudulent activity.
- Do not interfere with trip tracking, verification or safety controls.
- Report serious incidents and cooperate with a reasonable investigation.
6. Safety features and emergencies
Safety features may include identity and document verification, live trip tracking, trip sharing, route monitoring, SOS alerts, audio recording, number masking, fatigue alerts, ratings and incident reports. Availability can depend on the trip, device, permissions and rollout stage.
These tools support safer decisions but do not replace personal judgement or emergency services. If there is immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service as soon as it is safe to do so.
7. Child trips
Child trips require the safety PIN before the trip can begin. Where the feature is available, an authorised parent or guardian may view a live video stream from the child’s phone, and in-app audio recording starts automatically for the trip.
The person arranging a child trip confirms that they have authority to do so and will provide all notices and permissions required by law. Recording and livestream access must not be copied, shared or used for any purpose unrelated to the child’s safety or an incident review.
8. Privacy, recordings and communications
heyGo processes account, identity, device, vehicle, location, trip, support and safety information to operate and protect the service. Data is handled subject to applicable Nigerian data-protection law and any privacy notice presented when information is collected.
Phone-number masking, recordings and livestreams must be used only for their intended trip or safety purpose. WhatsApp and other external services have their own terms and privacy practices.
9. Reports, suspension and termination
heyGo may investigate reports and restrict, suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, prevent fraud or enforce these Terms. Where appropriate, we may ask for more information, preserve relevant trip records or refer a matter to the authorities.
10. Third-party services and intellectual property
Maps, messaging, payment, identity and device services supplied by third parties may be subject to separate terms. heyGo is not responsible for a third-party service outside our reasonable control.
heyGo’s name, brand, software, designs and content are owned by or licensed to heyGo. You may use them only as needed to access the service and may not copy, sell, reverse engineer or misuse them except where law permits.
11. Service availability and liability
We work to keep heyGo available and accurate, but the service may be interrupted, delayed or affected by traffic, connectivity, devices, third parties or events outside our reasonable control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, heyGo is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.
12. Changes, complaints and governing law
We may update these Terms as the service changes. Material updates will be communicated through the website, app or another reasonable channel. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
Send questions or complaints to [email protected]. We will try to resolve disputes fairly. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes that cannot be resolved informally may be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction in Lagos.
